Auckland Stadiums' ongoing renewal project at Go Media Stadium has helped demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and community well-being, with a large donation of furniture and assets to community projects.
In partnership with All Heart NZ, we’ve taken significant steps to ensure that our upgrades make a positive difference beyond the stadium walls.
Sustainable Refurbishment: A New Standard in Stadium Renovations
When we embarked on a renewal project to refurbish Go Media Stadium's corporate suites, we wanted to avoid needless waste. We sought to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to the community. By collaborating with All Heart NZ, an organisation dedicated to redirecting and repurposing redundant corporate items in a sustainable manner, we did just that.
By The Numbers:
-
450 Items: 100% of our donated furniture and other assets will be reused, creating a circular economy for our redundant corporate items.
-
9,280kg: Over 9 tonnes of redundant items were sustainably redirected from landfill.
-
6 Tonnes: By choosing to redirect these items rather than sending them to landfill, we avoided an estimated 6.0042 tonnes of carbon emissions.
-
$24k: The items we redirected have an estimated community value of $23,849.60, which enables All Heart NZ to support meaningful employment, training, and volunteer opportunities for individuals in need.
Premium, Sustainable Hospitality
Through this project we have renewed Go Media Stadium’s corporate suites to enhance our hospitality offering, while also delivering community and environmental benefits.
Setting Sustainability Standards
We are proud to play a part in reducing waste and minimising our carbon footprint, setting a new standard for stadium refurbishments. By integrating sustainable practices into our operations, we hope to inspire other organisations to follow suit, fostering a broader movement towards environmental responsibility.
